Basic Rhythms

A playful introduction to basic rhythms for young violinists

This material leads young violinists through learning basic rhythms in a playful and motivating way. Through varied exercises, the musical pulse becomes tangible and a solid rhythmic foundation is built.

Speech, clapping and movement games

In the first part, basic note values are introduced. All rhythms can be heard on the accompanying audio tracks, played by drums and piano, encouraging children to experience the pulse actively and with joy.

Drawing and writing games

Interspersed between the short, easy-to-understand exercises are drawing and writing games. These are not only entertaining but also provide a creative introduction to note reading and note writing.

I wish all young music makers, their parents and teachers joy and success.
