Only That Which Is Cultivated Can Also Develop!
By Kerstin Wartberg – Reflections on Dr. Suzuki's teaching about daily practice, regular review and musical listening. A nurturing musical environment helps children develop their abilities and a lasting love for music.
Music Isn't a Race
By Sue Hunt – Musical education is not a competition. Learning an instrument helps children develop a sense of beauty, sensitivity and attention to detail. They learn to do things with greater care and depth – qualities that can shape their character and enrich their lives far beyond music.
We encourage teachers to share these articles with parents and discuss their ideas together.
⭐ A Thought for Teachers and Parents
Musical growth takes time, patience and daily care. Regular listening, thoughtful practice and the review of familiar pieces help children develop their musical abilities.
Encourage your students to play their earlier pieces beautifully. Celebrate their progress in sound, posture and musical expression rather than how quickly they move through the repertoire.
True musical progress is not measured by how many pieces a child has learned, but by how beautifully and confidently the child can play them.
