Category: Church Music

Arrangement for 3 Violins and Cello — optional Advanced Violin

by Kerstin Wartberg

This vibrant and uplifting choral theme from Richard Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg has been thoughtfully arranged for young string ensembles.
The setting captures the majestic energy and radiant optimism of the original chorus — a musical call to welcome the new day with strength, joy, and confidence.

Level:

  • Intermediate level - string students (Violin I–III and Cello)

  • Optional Advanced Violin part featuring higher positions, which may be added ad libitum for more experienced players

This arrangement can be performed either as a full string orchestra piece or as a chamber music version, making it suitable for a wide range of ensemble settings. An MP3 is included, featuring the piece in a chamber-music, soloistic version with the strings supported by a beautifully resonant organ.

With its powerful harmonies, bold rhythmic drive, and warm, festive character, this piece is ideal for studio concerts, group lessons, or special celebratory occasions. It offers developing players an inspiring introduction to Wagner’s musical world while remaining accessible, engaging, and rewarding to play.
