Many parents recognize the importance of education, but may not immediately see the lasting value of early instrumental music study. How can teachers effectively communicate the benefits of music learning and inspire families to consider music lessons for their children?
This session explores practical strategies for reaching new families and building meaningful connections with parents at the earliest stages of their musical journey. Participants will discover effective ways to communicate the educational, developmental, and personal benefits of learning an instrument, particularly to parents who may have little previous experience with music education.
Topics include presenting information clearly and convincingly, organizing successful parent information evenings, establishing trust and confidence from the first contact, and creating a welcoming environment for families from diverse backgrounds. Drawing on extensive experience in music education and community outreach, the lecture offers practical ideas and proven approaches that teachers can immediately apply within their own studios, schools, and music programs.
