Course Content

Suzuki and traditional violin teachers are invited to explore and work intensively with the materials presented in Step by Step, Volume 1A and My First Technique Book together with the author, Kerstin Wartberg.

The course focuses on the step-by-step mastery of the teaching points contained in the Volume 1A repertoire and presents practical strategies for teaching the fundamental principles of violin technique in the early stages of instruction. Special emphasis is placed on establishing a healthy technical foundation, developing beautiful tone production, and nurturing musical understanding in young children.

An additional focus of the course is effective parent education. Participants will explore practical ways of guiding parents in supporting productive practice habits and creating a positive learning environment at home.

Charles Krigbaum and Daina Staggs have worked closely with Kerstin Wartberg for many years. Since 2005, they have actively participated in the development, testing, and implementation of new teaching materials with students of various ages and levels. As co-presenters, they assist in demonstrating the practical application of the course concepts in both individual and group teaching situations.
